Feature Image
Fixed braces
Fixed braces are a common type of treatment used to straighten teeth. They’re made up of brackets which are fixed to your teeth, attached to wires that gradually move your teeth into the correct position. Fixed braces can correct a range of orthodontic problems including crooked teeth, overcrowding, overbites or underbites. At The Bay Orthodontics, we offer a range of fixed brace options.

Braces for Children
It’s common for children and teenagers to need braces for a variety of reasons. Their permanent teeth may be crooked, or their teeth might not fit together the way they should. There are a number of factors that can cause these problems, from genetics to childhood habits like thumb-sucking. At The Bay Orthodontics, we offer a comprehensive range of treatments, including solutions that have been specially developed for children and teens.
Feature Image
Twin Block Braces
A twin block brace is designed to improve the way your teeth bite together. They’re sometimes known as functional appliances and produce accurate and reliable results. They’re generally used for children and teenagers. A twin block brace is made up of two removable appliances known as twin blocks, which need to be worn together. Unlike other removable aligners, such as Invisalign treatment, you don’t take them out to eat or drink.

Jaw Surgery
If your orthodontist needs to correct the position of your teeth and improve the function of your bite, they may recommend jaw surgery alongside orthodontic treatment. Jaw surgery is only needed in severe cases, for example if you have previously suffered a facial injury or have long-standing issues with your jaw. It’s commonly referred to as orthognathic surgery or corrective jaw surgery. Although it sounds daunting, your orthodontist will talk you through everything before you start treatment and can answer any questions you might have.
Feature Image
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners are used to capture pictures inside the mouth, in order to create a 3D model of the mouth and teeth. Before intraoral scanners, a mould of your teeth would be taken using a tray and impression material. With traditional methods, the tray is inserted into your mouth and, as you bite down into the impression material, it creates a mould of your teeth. This method is still commonly used, but intraoral scanners have digitised this process for near-invisible braces. Intraoral scanners are available in The Bay Orthodontics practice.

Removable Invisalign braces
While traditional braces are an effective solution for straightening teeth, you may be looking for a more discreet option. Everyone’s needs are different, and your orthodontist can recommend the most suitable, discreet solution for you. We offer a range of near-invisible and discreet braces to suit your needs.

How do I sign up for patient finance?

After you agree your orthodontic treatment plan with your orthodontist, you’ll have the option to apply for finance through Novuna Personal Finance. If you decide to apply, you just need to share your email address with a member of the reception team and they’ll send you a link to a straightforward application form. If you find out you’re eligible for patient finance, you can then use it to spread the cost of orthodontic treatment, and achieve your dream smile.

How does patient finance work for orthodontic treatment?

Patient finance can make your journey to a straighter smile smoother by spreading the cost of treatment.

Instead of having to pay for your teeth straightening treatment upfront or all in one go, you pay a set amount each month for a fixed period of time.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, it’s entirely optional. You can choose to pay one if it suits you, but you’re not obliged or required to do so.

You can decide if you want to pay a deposit at the application stage. If you choose to do so, it could lower the cost of your monthly repayments.
