Laurence keeps up to date with the latest developments in orthodontics and has a keen interest in digital orthodontics and contemporary technologies. Laurence studied Biomedical Sciences at King’s College London, where he graduated in 1999, before qualifying as a general dentist in 2005. After a period in general practice, he trained for a further three years at the University of Barcelona, where he gained a master’s degree in orthodontics. Laurence is a recognised specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council and is an active member of the British Orthodontic Society (BOS), American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), International Association of Orthodontists and Implantologists (IAOI) and Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontics (WFO). Laurence is a certified provider of Invisalign aligners, Incognito and WIN lingual braces. He is constantly improving his orthodontic knowledge and is one of the few orthodontists in the UK to have sat the prestigious FACE/Roth-Williams advanced multidisciplinary postgraduate course in San Sebastian, Spain.

Courtney qualified as a dental nurse in 2020. Courtney has gone on to complete her iTero scanning and impression-taking qualification and is also Calibrated on doing PAR scoring. Courtney is our treatment coordinator and is very friendly and welcoming to all new patients excited to start their orthodontic journey with us. Courtney’s favourite aspect of her role is helping patients achieve the smile that they have always dreamed of. When Courtney is not at work she likes to spend time with her friends and family. Courtney’s dream is to become an orthodontic therapist one day. If Courtney could do anything other than orthodontics then she would travel the world.

Cassie first started in dentistry in 2006 where she trained as a dental nurse, in 2012 she qualified as an orthodontic nurse and instantly fell in love with the profession, Cassie went on to qualify from the university Dental Hospital of Manchester as an orthodontic therapist in 2016. Cassie has a very calm and gentle manner both in and out of the surgery and is very compassionate and understanding working with patients of all ages to ensure they feel comfortable through their treatment
When Cassie is not working in clinic you can find her up a mountain, paddleboarding or open water swimming on a lake somewhere. Cassie’s motto in life would be to find a job you love and are passionate about that way you never have to go to work. Since entering the world of dentistry as a receptionist I have been eager to progress and learn more about the industry. I am currently a qualified nurse and I intend to become a dental hygienist. An award-winning orthodontist, Badri also lectures in orthodontics at the University of Manchester.
In 2001, Badri qualified from Annamalai in India with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree, before moving to the UK in 2006. He gained a PhD in 2009 from the University of Manchester and attained his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in the same year.
Badri teaches orthodontics at the University of Manchester and is actively involved in research, with many publications in well-known orthodontic journals. His work has been acknowledged by the British Orthodontic Society, winning the prestigious ‘Rising Star’ award in 2010 and the Chapman Prize in 2011. As an active member of the British Orthodontic Society, Badri has twice been invited to address their annual conference. He is also a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontics and a British Lingual Orthodontics Society member.

I am Liz. I am an orthodontic therapist at The Bay Orthodontics, I am one of the longest-standing team members as I started working at the practice in 2007 as a receptionist I then went on to qualify as a dental nurse, and since then I have gone on to do orthodontic therapy at University of Central Lancashire qualifying in 2016 from the royal college of surgeons Edinburgh where I was also awarded the Gold medal for the outstanding achievement in orthodontic therapy for 2016. I’m very really passionate about my role and find my work very rewarding, helping all of the patients achieve their perfect smile I work with NHS and private patients. I enjoy working with all the different types of braces that we offer especially Invisalign.

Hello, I am Bernie Katiff and I am extremely proud to have joined the brilliant team at The Bay Orthodontics as Lead Dental Nurse
I am enthusiastic, hardworking and committed to improving myself and providing the best care for patients.
I have significant experience working in NHS private and corporate dental practices since I started as a dental nurse in 1999.
Since qualifying I have sought to continue my professional development through regularly completing courses, and gaining further qualifications such as a BSc hon’s in Dental Technology. I am currently doing a course in Dental Radiography and keep up to date with my continual professional development to remain up to date with developments in clinical practice.
Outside dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my lovely husband and walking our two dogs. We love travelling, discovering new beautiful places and socialising with friends.

Emma Phillips is a registered practice manager at the Bay Orthodontics. My journey began as a dental nurse in 2007 and I then qualified as a dental nurse in 2011 completing the NEBDN national dental nurse exam after having my two young children. I have previously worked as a dental nurse, treatment coordinator and practice coordinator. I then stepped into the practice manager position in 2019 and I haven’t looked back since I have gained knowledge and experience with NHS and private patients over the years by working as a treatment co Ordinator. I enjoy seeing our patient’s smile journey and working with an excellent and passionate team. I enjoy compliance in my role and finding new ways of working to improve our services for our patients. Outside dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two beautiful children. Taking the dog for a walk and home improvements if I didn’t work in dentistry, I would love to be an interior

I’m Lucy, I have worked in dentistry for 25 years gaining a vast amount of experience in all sectors of dentistry, however, I have always had a passion for Orthodontics. I gained my Orthodontic therapy qualification from The Royal College Of Surgeons London in 2010 and haven’t looked back since. I have been very fortunate to travel to many places to attend lots of conferences and workshops and have been lucky to travel as far as America. I have worked at The Bay Orthodontics since May 2023, it’s great to have a new challenge. The best thing about my Job is meeting patients and parents, then following their journey seeing the patients grow in confidence whilst we give them the perfect smile. If I wasn’t an Orthodontic therapist I would have liked to be a paediatric physiotherapist. In my spare time I enjoy heading to our caravan in North Wales for long beach walks with my husband and 2 children, paddleboarding and making memories.

I have worked at the practice for the past 24 years, I work with a lovely team, and we all enjoy events together outside of work as well. I enjoy meeting the patients & seeing their lovely smiles at the end of treatment. Outside of my work, I enjoy mountain & coast walking with my husband & friends, I also enjoy travelling around the UK in our motorhome, seeing different places and meeting interesting people, I have 2 grown-up boys who I love spending time with. If I wasn’t a receptionist I would have liked to have been a veterinary Nurse.
